But I really, really like the new Navigator Black Label. More than that, this is the first modern Lincoln that I’ve had a genuine desire to own. It’s even more of a leap forward from its predecessor than the current (and fantastic) Escalade is from its previous generation. For $100,000 even, I’d take the ‘Gator over an Escalade Platinum, QX80, LX570, and GLS550. Basically the only comparably priced vehicle I might consider as an alternative is the supercharged V8 Range Rover. I honestly never thought I’d see the day when I held a Lincoln in the same light as my favorite luxury SUV, and yet, here we are.

I’m not disagreeing that this is a quantum leap forward for Lincoln....but Range Rover. Somehow the Range Rover is still the one new true luxury SUV that I wouldn’t be embarrassed to own(would not be embarrassed by a Land Cruiser either but I’m not sure it’s quite the same caliber).

IMO it’s far better looking than the tacky Escalade and any of those utterly offensive-looking things Lexus sells.

In my perfect world, interior is one of my absolute top priorities in a car. It’s where I spend all my time, so I’ve got to want to be there.

I can’t put my figure on why I like this as much as a Rover. Ok, so the Range Rover is better looking on the outside and does better off-road...but this has such a phenomenal interior and so much presence. Maybe the latter is just because it’s new, while the current Range Rover has been with us for six years.

I could see that - I like it way better than the Escalade, and I think it’s gorgeous, too - I particularly love the greenhouse. If I was in this price range, it would be between the LX, GLS and this, I think.

As a former LX owner and fanboy, I really want to like the current one. The problem is, in addition to being hideous, it is hysterically out-of-date.

Yeah, you pretty much summed up my feelings on that as well. I *want* to like it, but if I was seriously shopping for one of these, I’d be shocked if I liked it as much after driving it along with the others.

its ont of the reasons I never fell in love with the 100 series. my 80 isn’t magical on the interior department...in fact its a case study in inefficiency...but the 100 just looked too, how to say, 90's taurus to me.

I went to GL450 from E550 when my son was born, and I went from GL450 to the Navigator L when the Twins were born.
With three kids in their car seats, their twins stroller and my parents, the Navigator L hauls everything. But I DO MISS the appointments / quality of the GL.
In about 2 years when they are in their booster seats and we’ll never need the stroller, I am gonna look - long and hard at another Navigator L with a strong bias towards a CPO GL 350 bluetec.
Personally I want and hope that Lincoln has fixed the Navigator to the point where it truly is upscale.

The LX was a vast improvement on that front. Amazing what a bunch of wood, a bit of bright work, and some better colors can do.

So now not only do I need 100,000 for the Nav, I also need probably another 10,000 to have Airride build a kit for it, and some Detroit steel 20” wheels. Their Artillery wheel would do quite well. http://detroitsteelwheel.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/2017_DSW_Catalog_Retail_v1.pdf

For what is a glorified people hauler, I honestly can’t think of spending anything more than like, a Honda Pilot Elite, Chevy Traverse High Country or maybe get fancy with a Buick Enclave Avenir.

I love the continental in that blue. I did the Toyota booth but I walked over to check it out. Those door handles are sexy and the car has some classic lines. If I lived somewhere snowy and I had money to burn, sure I’d get a Navigator, hate the wheels though.

The one thing that bothers me are the tabs they used for the floor mats look like they belong in a VW Golf.

It’s a known functional part, though I agree it does seem a bit out-of-place. If it were metal it might corrode, and chrome might look tacky, so.... Hmm...

I guessed that, I just have not been in any newer Fords lately. They look to low grade for the Navigator, but they are really important. The parts bin parts are probably heavily tested, so a nicer looking design probably would have been a ton of development.

I think that a lot looking at my car and my wife’s, although I really do think Ford stepped up their game in higher trims of their vehicles as well. But you can see throughout my car parts that are identical to parts on my wife’s car, which debuted in 2003... I couldn’t even guess when these were first used.

dealer near me has 15 in inventory. But if it doesn’t sell worth a damn where you are, I could see why dealers wouldn’t waste money and space on keeping any in stock.
Flex is a weird vehicle. it never hit the hoped-for volumes, but it’s interesting how consistent its volumes have been. it’s been a stable ~1800-2100 sales/month for years. Plus, the current one has been “paid for” since about 2015.
and it’s a car where not a whole lot of people are interested in it, but the people who liked it enough to buy them are almost fanatical in how much they love them. Myself, I never understand why people flock to the bulky, cramped, claustrophobic Explorer over the relatively open and easy to see out of Flex.

I wanted a Flex, but my wife didn’t.
A coworker let me try her 2012 since I couldn’t get one from a dealer to try.
Interior felt really cheap. We ended up getting a pathfinder SL
Since the interior was miles better and it had the best in class fuel economy at the time. I didn’t even want to try it cause of the CVT but ended up loving the smooth constant acceleration.
